Order: 

This medical directive provides authority to communicate an order to the Occupational Health Nurses (OHN) and their nurse delegates to administer epinephrine (Adrenaline) and diphenhydramine (Benadryl) to staff members within St. Joseph’s Health Care London (St. Joseph’s) who exhibit signs of an allergic or anaphylactic reaction.

Background:

All employees, persons with practicing privileges, contract workers, students, and volunteers who carry on activities within St. Joseph’s will have access to this treatment through OHSS. For the purpose of this medical directive, these groups will be collectively referred to as staff members.
